Why CheckGuardMY Was Built
"As a Malaysian developer, I recently received a scam call from 039 770 8960 — someone claiming to be from my bank, saying I owed them RM120,000 and needed to pay immediately.
For a moment, even I felt confused and worried. 'RM120k? How is that possible? Is this real?' The caller sounded professional and had official-sounding procedures.
That's when I realized — if they can almost get someone who builds technology for a living, imagine how many Malaysians are falling victim and losing their life savings every day.
So CheckGuardMY was created. A free community platform where we can check suspicious numbers, report scams, and protect each other. No profit, no agenda — just Malaysians helping Malaysians stay safe from scammers.
